Beväringarna berättar - “Säkerhetsföreskrifterna tillämpas enligt situation”

Truth productive

I’ve decided to be productive for a change, seeing as I’ve now been in Espoo for almost and having done nothing really. I’ve just been taking it easy, going on some lectures in maths, physics, circuit theory and digital technology, playing BF2142 (great game btw) and staying up waaaay to late at night.

But this is all going to change (yeah right)! I thought it’d be great idea to begin this new era by publishing another article. I’ve had this one in my mind for a long time and I actually mentioned ages ago in this post. Now I’ve finally gotten the guts to publish it. By the way - if you don’t hear from me in like a couple of months, the Finnish government has probably thrown me in jail :)
Anyways, here’s the story what the Finnish Defence Forces didn’t want you to read: “Conscripts talk security”.

What the FDF didn’t want you to read - “Conscripts talk security”

When I was a conscript in the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) I was assigned to a magazine called Fanbraren (Flag Carrier) as an editor and journalist. It’s the PR magazine For Nylands Brigade which has a circulation of 4000 copies and read by many more including a lot of people abriad, also often commented on by larger newspapers. The theme for the latest issue was safety and one assignment, among others, was to write an article where ordinary privates and NCOs (Non Commissioned Officers / corporals / petty officer 3rd class in the navy (editor’s note)) would speak out about what they thought about the safety at Nylands Brigad.

My boss, the director for the magazine, wanted to see in which direction I was going with the article and I showed him my first draft. I was very surprised when he and the brigade commander for censored the whole thing.

“Who Killed The Electric Car” on Google Video

I noticed that a movie I’ve been eagerly awaiting for a while now as come up on Google Video! I urge each and every one of you to watch this movie either on GVideo or see it in the cinemas. If your local cinema don’t have it go protest outside until they start showing it. This is a movie everyone must see to understand what forces actually control our society and world climate. The movie can be seen on Google Video for free at least for the time being. Go see it before some greedy capitalist bastard force Google to remove it!Google Video - Who Killed The Electric Car

All hail Google ;)

Moving out, in and on

Hello! Sorry for the shape of this blog. Not only have I not made any serious posts in a while, there’s also something really fishy about that sidebar and I’m not really sure what’s going on there.

The reason for all this is that I’ve finally moved out of my parent’s house to a flat in Otaniemi in Espoo (suburb to Helsinki). I’ve also begun my studies at the Department of Electrical and Communications Engieering (fancy ‘ey?!) in Helsinki University of Technology. Though I am exited about studying there the subjects seem quite difficult. Especially since I haven’t even used a calculator or opened a physics book in almost two years! So there’s a lot of hard work to be done :)

Having said that I do believe I will have more time to write entries and articles in the future. And damn, I need to fix that sidebar! If I even …
