“What the hell is an Olm?! And why do you call yourself that?” I don’t know how many times I’ve gotten that question is an attempt to summarize all explanations I’ve ever served. Whoa - time certainly flies. Now only 20 days until OHI ON and I still have a lot of work left here at the FDF. The magazine I’m responsible for is nearlly ready but there is still much to be done. It’s coming together more nicely than I thought although I’ve had some eerie problems with censorship. I’ll tell you everything about that once I’m out those gates. I don’t want to risk getting into a situation more serious than I’d like. But I can throw you a bone by saying “I wrote a text where soldiers speak out about safety. And the text was censored because it was to honest…” You go on figure out the rest. As I said: more on that later.

When I loaded up my google homepage this morning - the countdown read “30 days until OHI ON”. I’ve finally gotten here. After months and months of being imprisoned her att Nyland’s brigade I’ve finally reached the magic three-o. Only a month left now and then I’m a civil man!
For those who don’t know it, Finland has a non optional military service. Ie. all men must spend at least six months in the military between the age 18 and 28 or they’ll loose their citizenship. There’s also the possibility of civil service for 13 months or to refuse to touch arms completely and refusing civil service which will give you about six months in an open prison.
