10 years of Olming

~sounds of fireworks and champagne bottles!~

This is a great day for me. It’s been almost exactly 10 years since I made my first website and at the same time 10 eyars since I started using the nickname Olmen or The Olm. This is also the official opening day for olmweb.com which marks the dawn of my 10th personal website “The Musings of an Olm”.

Much has changed since 1996 in terms of technology and my own know how. My first website wasa very simple static page which was made in class. From that moment on I was hooked and have been creating websites and webapplications for various purposes and people from that moment on. Then there was the “legendary” OH5 in 2001 (can’t remember the exact dates) and more lately the website Exposity which was started in 2004.

This new website “The Musings of an Olm” is of a completely different caliber. It’s built on the absolutely phenomenal Wordpress platform so maintaining and updateing it is easier than ever before. I want to thank my good ol’ mate Robin Brandt for inspiring me to starting this blogsite.

To further celebrate myself ;) I’ve written my first article called “The History of an Olm”. It tells the story of how and why I started using this strange nick name of mine. And to finally set things strange by letting you all know what an olm really is.

Thank you for sharing this with me, I can’t tell how much I appreciate it. It’s been a wonderful 10 years of Olming on the internet - and I believe there are many yet to come.
